SAGAAN TURLAAG (BURYATIA)
The rock group "Sagaan tourlaag" from the Tunkinsky district of the Buryat Republic was established in 2014, there are no professional musicians in its composition.
- We are going to gather rarely, because we all work in different sectors. But before the performances we leave everything and plunge into the music. At the rehearsals, we fully open up and give ourselves to creativity, - the musicians say.
In their work the group combines the motives of Russian rock and Buryat folk songs. The repertoire of the band includes covers and songs of their own compositions.
- We started with covers for different songs. Basically it was Russian rock. Later we began to study folklore and try to mix with rock music. It turned out an interesting sound and then it was decided that we will go in this direction, - the musicians said in an interview.
